Dog Owners of the Granite State is an American Kennel Club affiliated non-profit organization founded in 1991 to represent the interests of all pet owners in New Hampshire.

Our members participate in dog and cat shows, fox hunting, obedience, agility, sled dog racing, field trials, tracking tests, search and rescue, lure coursing, rally, water rescue and carting events, tracking wounded deer and generally love, enjoy and take care of their dogs.
What we do –
D.O.G.S. monitors N.H. legislation to ensure that it is in the best interests of both pets and their owners.
How we contribute –
Our members, both individually and through their organizations:
- Contribute to dog and cat health research;
- Supply pet oxygen masks to N.H. Fire Departments;
- Fund scholarships for N.H. veterinary students;
- Visit nursing homes;
- Breed Rescue;
- Train service dogs
- Support our town Parks & Recreation Departments;
- Support Army dogs in Iraq and Afghanistan;
- Teach Obedience, Agility, etc. Classes;
- Hold Rabies and Microchip Clinics;
- Annually, through their dog license fees, N.H. dog owners pay:
- Over $300,000 to fund N.H.’s low cost spay and neuter program;
- Approximately $75,000 towards the N.H. Veterinary Diagnostic Lab;
- Between $600,000 and $975,000 to fund local animal control for all animals – not just dogs.
